2020 Benthic Monitoring Project:

The Township of McKellar and the MLCA are partnering with the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve (GBBR) in this minimum three year project.  This biological measurement of Manitouwabing Lake will identify visible invertebrates (bugs, larvae) in the lake bed and will aid in evaluating the health of the lake.  The MLCA will pay about $1,000 annually for the cost of one of the four sites to be monitored.
